Lecture title: Effect and Regulation of Surface Wettability on Molecular Morphology, Transport and Reaction

Shuangliang Zhao

Shuangliang Zhao received his B.S. degree in applied physics (2002), and M.S. degree in theoretical physics (2004) from Hunan University in China. From 2004 to 2007, he studied in the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (ENS-Lyon) in France as a Sino-France joint course Ph.D. student and received his Ph.D. degree from ENS-Lyon with Prof. Wei Dong. Thereafter, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the chemistry department of Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris (2007-2009). In 2009, he moved to the chemical engineering department in theUniversity of California at Riverside, USA for his second postdoctoral research (2009-2012). Since 2012, Zhao has become an associate professor in the school of chemical engineering, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). Since 2016, he has also served as the deputy dean of school of chemical engineering in ECUST. His research interests cover domains where statistical thermodynamics connects to surface science. He combines theory and simulations to explore the intimate mechanisms of surface phenomena at the molecular level. He has published around 70 scientific articles, and received a number of professional awards and honors including the Shanghai Rising Star Award in 2014 and Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation in 2016.
