Brief Biography


Dr. Xizhong An got his Ph.D degree from University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) in 2002, and currently he is working as a full professor in School of Metallurgy, Northeastern University (NEU). Prof. An’s research interests include numerical and physical study on particle packing, granular matter, and powder metallurgy. In recent years, he has undertaken more than 20 projects from Chinese government, local government, and enterprise. Over 60 papers were published, where more than 40 were in SCI journals such as Phys. Rev. Lett., Powder Technol., Europhys. Lett., Comput. Phys. Commun., Appl. Phys. A, Sensors & Actuators: B. Chemical, AIP Adv., RSC Adv., Metall. Mater. Trans. A, Metall. Mater. Trans. B, Adv. Powder Technol., Granular Matter, Particuology, J. Min. Metall. B, Nanoscale Res. Lett., Diam. Relat. Mater., Mat. Sci. Technol., Particul. Sci. Technol., Chin. Phys. Lett., Mater. Res. Innov., et al. Two Chinese patents were authorized and four were in application. He has received numerous honours and awards including: Candidate for “Liaoning Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Engineering”, Hundred Level (2009); Candidate for “New Century Outstanding Talents” of Ministry of Education of China (2010); “Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker” of Liaoning province (2014); “Longchuan Talent” of Yangzhou City, China (2015); “Shuangchuang doctor” of Jiangsu Province (2016); Science and Technology Progress Award (second prize) of Chinese Society of Particuology (2016); and Natural Science Award (third prize) of Liaoning Province (2016). He is currently the executive director of National Materials New Technology Development Research Institute; Director of Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology; Youth Director of Chinese Society of Particuology; Director of Liaoning Provincial Particulate Association; Member of American Association for Science and Technology; Member of Process Simulation and Modeling Professional Committee of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China; Editor for “Chinese Journal of Science and Technology”; Member of editorial board for the following journals: “Journal of Mineral, Metal and Material Engineering”, “Engineering and Materials Sciences”, “Universal Journal of Materials Science”, “China Powder Science and Technology” (In Chinese), and “Journal of Materials Science” (In Chinese).
